Lactobacillus Gasseri

In a 12-week double-blind, randomized and placebo-controlled clinical trial published in the British Journal of Nutrition, L. Gasseri produced an average fat loss of 8.5%. Even for a typical American woman weighing 170 lbs, that's 15 lbs of fat in just three months. The study participants also "significantly reduced" their body weight, BMI, waist size, and visceral fat around their organs. The control group who didn't take L. Gasseri showed no changes at all. Even better, when the L. Gasseri group stopped taking it and came back one month later for a follow-up, researchers discovered that the fat loss had stopped too, and their weight, BMI, waist size, and visceral fat had begun to climb again!

Lactobacillus Rhamnosus

In another 12-week double-blind, randomized and placebo-controlled clinical trial at the University of Laval in Canada, also published in the British Journal of Nutrition, study participants who took another ‘lean bacteria’ species called Lactobacillus Rhamnosus shed an average of 9.7 lbs of fat – almost twice as much as the placebo group. It was also noted that L. Rhamnosus had succeeded in reducing the levels of specific gut bacteria related to weight gain – so-called ‘fat bacteria’.

Lactobacillus Fermentum

In a double-blind and placebo-controlled trial at the University of Manitoba, Canada, later published in the Journal of Functional Foods, participants taking Lactobacillus Fermentum enjoyed a 3% drop in body fat in just 43 days, compared to just 1% for the placebo group. In other words, Lactobacillus Fermentum tripled the level of fat loss in just six weeks.
